Everyone needs a way to cope with the loss of a loved one. Find something that is healthy that makes you feel better. Some people turn to journaling and meditation, others to support groups and seminars. Sometimes, it can even help to pick up an activity that your loved one was passionate about in order to feel closer to them. For example, if your significant other loved riding a bike, look into joining a bike club where you can enjoy the same thing your loved one once did.

Celebrate Their Life

While funerals are certainly a place for mourning, they do not always have to be. Sometimes what is most important is to celebrate the life of your loved one, rather than focusing on their loss. If your loved one enjoyed hiking, take family and friends for a hike. Find your loved one’s favorite spot and spend some time sharing your favorite stories about them. Turn to your community and remember all the wonderful times you shared with your loved one.
